Towana Looney, a 53-year-old woman from the United States, has made medical history. She received a kidney transplant from a pig in November and has now lived with it for 61 days. This makes her the longest-living recipient of a pig organ transplant in the world.
Before the transplant, Towana had been waiting for a kidney for nearly eight years. Now, she feels like a "superwoman" and can easily go on long walks. Her doctors are amazed by her progress, saying her kidney function is normal.
