In Thailand, a wild elephant surprised a shopkeeper by entering her convenience store. The incident occurred near Khao Yai National Park, where elephants often roam.
The elephant, named Plai Biang Lek, is well-known in the area. It spent about 10 minutes in the store, focusing on the snack section. The animal ate various sweets and snacks, including dried bananas and peanuts.
Shop owner Khamploi Kakaew tried to shoo the elephant away but was unsuccessful. Park rangers were called to guide the elephant out of the store. Interestingly, another elephant waited outside during this unexpected visit.
After the incident, a wildlife protection group compensated the shop owner for the eaten goods. This event highlights the increasing interactions between wild elephants and humans in the area.
