Typhoon Dolphin Hits Eastern China

Typhoon Dolphin made landfall on China's eastern coast on the evening of August 9, 2026. The powerful storm hit near Taizhou city in Zhejiang province and parts of Fujian province. When it reached land, the typhoon had wind speeds of approximately 151 kilometres per hour. Weather forecasters predicted that some regions could receive between 200 and 400 millimetres of rain in the following days. Schools, transportation systems, and tourist services were disrupted in areas exposed to the storm.
