Syrians Celebrate End of Assad Regime

15 December, 2024106 words2 minutes
In Damascus, Syria's capital, thousands of people gathered to celebrate a historic moment. After 50 years of rule by the Assad family, the government of Bashar al-Assad has fallen. People filled Umayyad Square, dancing and singing with joy.
Many Syrians expressed disbelief at the turn of events. Esraa Alsliman, a student, told reporters she thought this day would never come. People of all ages and backgrounds joined the celebrations, waving flags and chanting.
However, amid the jubilation, there were signs of uncertainty about the future. Syria has been through a long civil war, and the country now faces challenges in rebuilding and establishing a new government.
