A terrible accident occurred in South Korea when a passenger jet crashed while trying to land. The plane, coming from Bangkok, burst into flames as it reached the airport in Muan, about 290 kilometers south of Seoul.
The incident happened on Sunday morning. Video footage showed the plane skidding across the runway and crashing into a barrier. Sadly, out of 181 people on board, only two crew members survived. This makes it one of the deadliest air disasters in South Korea's history.
Investigators are now looking into the cause of the crash. They have retrieved the plane's black box, which contains important flight data. One possible factor being considered is a bird strike, as the control tower had warned the pilot about birds in the area before landing.
