Moon Missions: Private Landers Journey

Friday, 17 January, 2025118 words2 minutes
Two private companies have launched lunar landers on a mission to the moon. One lander is from a Japanese company called ispace, and the other is from an American company named Firefly Aerospace.
The landers took off together but will travel separately to the moon. It will take them several months to arrive. Once there, they will perform different experiments. The Japanese lander has a small rover that will collect moon dirt. The American lander will test tools that could help future astronauts on the moon.
Landing on the moon is challenging, and only five countries have done it successfully before. Both companies hope their missions will work well and help prepare for future exploration of the moon.
