Melting Alpine glaciers

Melting of Alpine glaciers is causing many changes, according to a new study.
Glaciers like the Stubai glacier in Austria will be gone in 20 years because of rising temperatures. The melting ice leads to more rockfalls, which makes high mountain paths unsafe. Water from the melting glaciers also carries small pieces of rock, including dangerous materials like uranium and nickel, which can harm water supplies. Permafrost, or frozen ground, is thawing, causing more rocks to fall. Lower areas are still safe for tourists, but it is risky at higher altitudes.
Glaciers are turning from white to green as plants are starting to grow in places where ice once covered the ground. This is all happening because of climate change humans caused.
