India and the United States have successfully launched a new satellite called Nisar. This advanced satellite is designed to observe Earth and detect even small changes on the planet's surface.
Nisar, which stands for NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar, will use two different radar frequencies to scan the Earth. It can spot changes as small as centimeters in land, sea, and ice sheets. The satellite will revisit the same areas every 12 days, providing regular updates on Earth's changing surface.
This joint mission between NASA and ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) represents a significant step in international space cooperation. The data collected by Nisar will be crucial for disaster preparedness and monitoring climate change impacts worldwide.
