Three brothers from Edinburgh, Scotland, have set a new record for rowing across the Pacific Ocean. Jamie, Ewan, and Lachlan Maclean completed the 9,000-mile journey from Peru to Australia in 139 days, 5 hours, and 52 minutes.
During their voyage, the brothers faced numerous challenges, including violent tropical storms that forced them to make detours. In one particularly dangerous incident, Lachlan was swept overboard by a large wave but was fortunately pulled back to safety.
The brothers had to be entirely self-sufficient during their journey, carrying all their food and supplies with them. They couldn't stop anywhere or receive help from passing boats. Despite the hardships, they persevered and successfully completed their mission, raising over £700,000 for clean water projects in Madagascar.
