Earth will have a second moon

A recent study says that Earth will have a second mini-moon from the end of September to the end of November.
This mini-moon is a small asteroid. It is 10 meters long, and Earth pulls it by its gravity. Mini-moons are rare but scientists saw them in 1981 and 2022. The new mini-moon is called 2024 PT5, but it is too small to see without a telescope.
These asteroids stay in orbit around Earth for a short time, usually a few months, before they move away. The mini-moon will go back into space and continue its journey around the Sun. This asteroid won’t come back to Earth until 2055.
