Police in San Francisco arrested a 20-year-old man after he threw a Molotov cocktail at the home of Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI. The attack happened early Friday morning in the North Beach neighborhood.
The fire bomb set a perimeter gate on fire, but fortunately no one was injured. An OpenAI spokeswoman confirmed the incident and said the same person had also made threats at the company's San Francisco headquarters.
When police arrived at Altman's home, the attacker had already fled. However, about an hour later, he appeared outside an OpenAI office and threatened to burn down the building. Officers arrested him at that location.
