Ruth Chepngetich is a runner from Kenya. She ran a marathon in Chicago. She finished the race in 2 hours, 9 minutes, and 56 seconds. This is a new world record for women. Ruth is the first woman to run under 2 hours and 10 minutes. She is very happy and proud of her win. She dedicated her win to her friend Kelvin Kiptum, who died earlier this year. Ruth ran very fast and won the race easily. /n/n In the race, the second place was Sutume Asefa Kebede from Ethiopia. She finished in 2 hours, 17 minutes, and 32 seconds. Ruth's time is almost eight minutes faster than Kebede's time. Ruth Chepngetich is a great runner!
