New Airport Scanners: Better Security, Slow Adoption

Airports are getting new machines to check bags. These machines are better at finding dangerous liquids. This is good news for travelers.

Right now, people can't bring big bottles of water or shampoo on planes. This rule started after some bad people tried to use liquids to hurt people on planes. The new machines can tell the difference between safe and unsafe liquids.

But not all airports have these new machines yet. Only about half of the airports in America have them. It will take a long time for all airports to get them. Until then, the old rules about liquids will stay the same in many places.
