Japan Tops 100,000 People Aged 100+

Japan has a lot of people who are 100 years old or older. There are now almost 100,000 of them! This is a new record for Japan. Most of these very old people are women. In fact, 88% of them are women.

Japanese people often live for a long time. They eat healthy food and stay active. Many old people in Japan like to exercise together. The government gives special gifts to people when they turn 100 years old. Japan is proud of its many old people, but it also worries because there are not many young people.
