Google made a new tool called SynthID Detector. It can find AI-made content in text, pictures, videos, and sounds.
But there is a problem. The tool only works for content made by Google's AI services. If you use ChatGPT to make something, SynthID cannot find it. This is because the tool looks for a special "watermark" that Google puts in its AI content.
A watermark is like a secret mark. People cannot see it, but machines can read it. It shows where the content came from. Many AI companies make their own watermarks, but they do not work together. This makes it hard to check AI content.
