Amazon will stop helping older Kindle devices work. The company sent emails to users who have Kindles from 2012 or earlier. These old Kindles will not get new books after May 20, 2026.
Many people are upset about this news. One user said their Kindle Touch from 2013 works great. They do not understand why Amazon is stopping support. Another person said a Kindle is simple and does not need updates.
Amazon said these old devices have been supported for 14 to 18 years. The company is giving discounts to help people buy newer Kindles. People can still read books they already have on their old devices.
