Zara Ads Banned for Thin Models

Fashion brand Zara has come under fire for its recent advertising campaign. The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) banned two of Zara's ads for featuring models who appeared 'unhealthily thin'. These ads were displayed on Zara's app and website.
One ad showed a model in a short dress. The ASA noted that shadows made her legs look 'noticeably thin' and her pose made her appear 'out of proportion'. Another ad featured a model in a shirt that emphasized her 'protruding' collarbones.
In response, Zara removed all flagged images, even though they hadn't received direct complaints. The company stated that the models had medical certificates proving their good health at the time of the photoshoot. However, the ASA ruled that the ads were 'irresponsible' and must not appear again in their current form.
