South Korea's Runaway Wolf Finally Captured

Neukgu, a two-year-old wolf, escaped from O-World zoo in Daejeon, South Korea. After nine days of searching, rescue teams finally captured him on Friday night near an expressway.
Hundreds of officials worked hard to find the wolf. They came close several times, but Neukgu always managed to escape. On Monday, someone spotted him on a mountain about 2 kilometers from the zoo. A video showed him running on a dark road, but he got away again.
Many people worried about Neukgu's safety. Animal rights groups feared he might be killed during capture, like another animal from the same zoo in 2018. Even South Korea's president asked for his safe return on social media.
Finally, authorities received a tip on Thursday evening. They shot Neukgu with a tranquilizer gun from 20 meters away. After a medical check, doctors found he was healthy. They removed a fishing hook from his stomach. Now Neukgu is safely back at the zoo, and everyone is relieved.
