A team of scientists claims to have discovered a new color that no one has ever seen before. They call this color 'olo', and describe it as a very saturated shade of blue-green. However, this color cannot be seen with the naked eye and requires special stimulation to be perceived.
The researchers conducted an experiment where they used laser pulses directed into the eyes of participants. By stimulating specific cells in the retina, they were able to make the participants see this new color. Professor Ren Ng, one of the study's co-authors, described the color as 'more saturated than any color you can see in the real world'.
While some experts are skeptical about whether this truly constitutes a new color, the research team believes their findings could potentially help in furthering research on color blindness. The study, published in the journal Science Advances, has sparked interest and debate in the scientific community about the nature of color perception.
