A group of experienced thieves carried out a daring robbery at the world-famous Louvre museum in Paris. The incident occurred on Sunday morning at 9:30 am local time. The criminals used sophisticated methods to break into one of the museum's most ornate rooms, the Apollon gallery, where valuable French crown jewels are displayed.
Using an angle grinder, the thieves broke through glass cases and stole priceless jewellery of significant historical importance. The French interior minister described the stolen items as having 'unmeasurable heritage value.' The entire operation took only seven minutes to complete.
In response to the theft, the Louvre was immediately closed for the day. Police are now investigating the incident, examining security camera footage and searching for three to four suspects who fled the scene. Interestingly, one piece of stolen jewellery was recovered outside the museum during the thieves' escape.
