Shubhanshu Shukla, an Indian astronaut, has made history by becoming the first Indian to set foot on the International Space Station (ISS). He is part of the Axiom-4 mission, which includes astronauts from Poland and Hungary. The team, led by former NASA veteran Peggy Whitson, launched on Wednesday and docked with the ISS on Thursday.
During their two-week stay, the crew will conduct 60 scientific experiments. Seven of these experiments were designed by India's space agency, ISRO. This mission is significant for India's space program, as it provides valuable experience for future human space flights.
Shukla described his first 24 hours in space as an amazing experience, saying it was fun to learn how to move and work in zero gravity. This mission marks an important step in India's ambitious space plans, which include sending an astronaut to the Moon by 2040.
