Ammunition Theft from German Military

The German Defense Ministry has confirmed a significant theft of ammunition last week. Approximately 20,000 rounds of ammunition were stolen from a civilian contractor's trailer that was parked overnight between November 24 and 25. The theft was discovered on November 28 when the military found the shipment was missing.

This incident is being taken very seriously by the German authorities. The military is working closely with local police to investigate the theft. A Defense Ministry spokesperson emphasized the importance of recovering the ammunition, stating that it must not fall into the wrong hands.

This theft occurs at a time when Germany is actively working to strengthen its armed forces. The country recently proposed a bill to increase its military personnel significantly by 2035. Additionally, Germany has been a major supplier of ammunition to Ukraine, with German manufacturers expanding production to meet the growing demand.

While smaller ammunition losses have occurred in Germany this year, this recent theft is unprecedented in its scale, raising concerns about military security and the potential misuse of the stolen ammunition.
