Some animals have very painful stings. Scientists study these stings to learn which ones hurt the most.
Justin Schmidt was a scientist who let 96 insects sting him. He made a list from 1 to 4. Level 4 was the worst pain. The bullet ant got level 4. People call it the "24-hour ant" because the pain lasts one day. The tarantula hawk wasp also got level 4. It is a big wasp that hunts spiders.
Jellyfish can sting too. The Irukandji jellyfish is very small but very dangerous. Its sting makes people feel terrible pain for many hours. People also feel very scared, like they will die. Most people get better, but the pain is very bad.
