Kite flying was very popular in India. People loved to fly kites from rooftops during festivals. Syed Moinuddin was a famous kite flyer. He once flew 1,187 kites on one string! His son, Jamaluddin, also learned to fly kites.
But today, fewer people fly kites. Many young people prefer phones and computers. The hot weather also makes it hard to fly kites outside. Some kite shops are closing because people don't buy kites anymore.
There is another problem. Some kite strings are very dangerous. They can hurt people and birds. This makes people scared of kite flying. But some people still love kites and want to keep this old tradition alive.
