South Korea's Dog Meat Ban
Thursday, 26 June, 2025117 words2 minutes
South Korea has made a big change. They will not allow people to sell dog meat anymore. This new rule starts in 2024, but farmers have until 2027 to stop selling dogs.
Many people are worried about what will happen to the dogs. There are about 500,000 dogs on farms now. It's hard to find new homes for all of them. Some people think the dogs might have to be put to sleep if no one can take care of them.
The farmers are also worried. They don't know how to make money now. Some of them have been raising dogs for many years. They hope the government will give them more time to change their work.
