Record Snowstorm Hits US East Coast

A big winter storm hit the US east coast on Monday. It brought a lot of snow to many cities. Some places got almost 37 inches of snow. That is very deep!
The snow stopped many things. More than 5,000 flights were cancelled. Many people could not fly. Over 600,000 homes lost power. People could not use lights or heat.
In some cities, people could not drive their cars. The government said it was too dangerous. One man said he felt like a prisoner in his home. The snow was too deep to walk outside.
