Pilot Forgets Passport, Flight Turns Back

A United Airlines plane flying from Los Angeles to Shanghai had to turn back. The pilot forgot his passport. This happened on Saturday, March 22. The plane flew for two hours before turning around.

The plane landed in San Francisco. The airline gave passengers food vouchers and money. A new crew took the passengers to Shanghai. The flight arrived six hours late. Some passengers were upset about the delay. Others said they understood the pilot's mistake.

This problem also affected the return flight from Shanghai to Los Angeles. That flight was also delayed by six hours. Some passengers had to change their plans because of the delay.
