Mosquitoes have been found in Iceland for the first time. This happened after the country had very hot weather. A man named Bjorn Hjaltason found the mosquitoes. He saw them while looking at moths.
Iceland used to be one of only two places in the world without mosquitoes. The other place is Antarctica. The mosquitoes were found near Iceland's capital city.
Scientists think the mosquitoes came because of the hot weather. Iceland had its hottest day ever in May. The temperature was 26.6°C. This is very unusual for Iceland.
