Maldives Introduces Generational Tobacco Ban

The Maldives has made a big change. People born after January 1, 2007, can't smoke. This is new for the whole country. The government wants to keep young people healthy.

The health ministry says it's now against the law for young people to use, buy, or sell tobacco. This includes all types of tobacco. Shops must check how old people are before selling tobacco.

The Maldives also stopped people from using e-cigarettes last year. This was to help make a tobacco-free generation. The country wants to protect its beautiful beaches and clean air.
