Japan has a big problem. The number of people living there is getting smaller. Last year, Japan lost more than 900,000 people. Now, there are only 120 million people in Japan.
Why is this happening? Not many babies are being born. Also, many old people are dying. The government is trying to help. They give money to families with children. They want more people to have babies.
But it's not easy to fix. Japan needs more young people to work and have families. Right now, there are too many old people and not enough young ones. This makes it hard for the country to grow and be strong.
