Nearly 300 Humpback Whales Gather in Rare Supergroup

Last December, two people saw something amazing near South Africa. They saw 299 humpback whales swimming together! This is very rare.
Humpback whales usually travel alone or in small groups. But sometimes they meet in big groups to eat fish. This was the biggest group ever seen.
Many years ago, hunters killed most humpback whales. There were only 10,000 left. But in 1986, countries stopped hunting them. Now there are more than 100,000 humpback whales! This shows that protecting animals works.
