More than 1,400 famous actors and directors do not want two big movie companies to join together. The companies are called Paramount and Warner Bros Discovery.
Many famous people signed a letter. Emma Thompson, Ben Stiller, and other stars wrote their names. They think the merger is bad for movies and TV shows. They say it will mean fewer jobs and fewer new shows.
The merger costs about $111 billion. If it happens, there will be only four big movie studios in America. The stars are asking the government to stop this deal. They want to protect jobs and give people more choices for entertainment.
