Florida is the first US state to sue OpenAI. The state says ChatGPT is dangerous for children and has helped bad people do terrible things.
Attorney General James Uthmeier says OpenAI cares more about money than safety. He says the company is hurting children and helping criminals. Florida is also looking into a shooting at Florida State University. They want to know if ChatGPT played a part in it.
OpenAI says it has strong safety rules. The company says it protects children and helps parents watch how kids use AI. OpenAI is sorry about the problems but says it is working to make things better.
