Eye Implant Restores Reading Ability for Blind Patients

Doctors have made a new eye chip. It helps blind people see again. The chip goes in the back of the eye. It works with special glasses. The glasses have a camera. The camera sends pictures to the chip. Then the chip sends the pictures to the brain. This helps people read again.

Five people got the chip in London. One woman, Sheila, is very happy. She can now read books and do puzzles. She says it is 'wonderful'.

The chip is very small. It is as thin as a hair. It helps people with a problem called AMD. This problem makes it hard to see clearly. The new chip gives hope to many people.
