China sold many more cars to other countries in May 2026. The number jumped 73% compared to last year. China exported about 809,000 cars in May.
More than half of these cars were electric vehicles (EVs). People want EVs because gas prices are very high now. The war in Iran made fuel more expensive.
Chinese car companies like BYD are selling cars in Latin America, Asia, and Europe. BYD sold over 160,000 cars abroad in May. This was 80% more than last year.
