Brown Bear at Taipei Zoo

A brown bear named Little Chiao lived at Taipei Zoo for many years. She was very old and got sick. The zoo doctors found that she had a bad tumor. Little Chiao was having trouble breathing and eating. The zoo decided it was best to let her go peacefully. They gave her medicine to put her to sleep forever. This is called euthanasia. It was a sad day for the zoo, but they wanted to stop Little Chiao's pain. She was a happy bear who liked to swim and play. Many people will miss her.

Little Chiao came to the zoo in 2006. She used to be in a circus but was left alone. The zoo took care of her for almost 20 years. She made many people smile with her fun activities.
