Wednesday, 16 April, 202599 words2 minutes
An airport in India stops all planes for a special event. People walk across the runway carrying statues from a temple. This happens twice a year.
The event is part of a festival at a famous temple. People pull wooden carts with statues on them. They walk for 2 kilometers on the runway. Even elephants walk on the runway!
The airport closes for a few hours during this time. No planes can take off or land. The airport tells airlines about this two months before it happens. This tradition has been happening since 1932 when the airport was built.
