In 1914, during World War I, something amazing happened at Christmas. Soldiers from both sides stopped fighting for a short time. They sang songs together and shared food.
On Christmas Eve, German soldiers started singing 'Silent Night'. British soldiers heard them and sang back. The next day, some soldiers met in the middle and shook hands. They even played football together!
This special time didn't last long. Soon, the war started again. But for a short time, enemies became friends and celebrated Christmas together.
